Exhibition Statement
When I think about transition I am reminded of how poetry seems to emerge at those moments. Whether it’s as banal as a train trip or as significant as falling in love, there is a desire in the heart to form the feelings into expressions. Sometimes when I am in the doldrums, I look to art or poetry to create an internal and spiritual transition (a small afternoon one say). Transitions are one of the places life appears to be happening. If I am to extract the theme of transition from my work, it usually takes the form of a spiritual transition.
